SAINT GERMAIN SCHOOL COMPLEX
The St. Germain School Complex is a
registered educational institute, recognized by the Ghana
Education Service as a potentially effective institution established to empower children in the
educational sphere of life, other extra-curricula talents inclusive, which would inturn be applied to help themselves and society.
It was established on the 6th of July 1992 by Madam Dorothy Eghan, the Proprietress.
This school has developed a Special Capacity Building
Curricula that harnesses the potentials in pupils/ students; and therefore implements activities to entice children to be highly willing to attend school and be
educated.
To entice children to attend school and efforts to help educate and train needy children, brilliant but
underprivileged children as well as orphans, efforts to develop communities and societies, the Young and Lonely Foundation has instituted activities to
support the Saint Germain School Complex, women, communities and persons with very underrprivileged persons, to help render essential services in Agona
Swedru and it neighboring communities.
The school operates a Nursery, Primary, Junior and Senior High Schools Education Programmes. From a population of eight pupils at the start
in the kindergarten level in July 1992, the school currently has a population of about sixteen hundred (1600) pupils and students of which four hundred and nine are beneficiaries
of the Young and Lonely Education Fund (YLFEF).
The school supports the education of less privileged and homeless
children in Agona Swedru and neighboring communities. The school is in partnership with Young and Lonely Foundation (YLF), a child right advocate NGO also based in Agona Swedru.

The St. Germain school complex is a one-stop school situated on the peak
of excellence. With deep concerns for the well-being of children, this is a centre for child development. It has a
friendly environment appropriate for the empowerment and disciplining of
children.
It enrolls children with very promising mental capabilities. It's
teaching faculty hosts well-informed and experienced masters in diverse
fields of studies in line with the school's teaching curriculum.
Children enroled in the school are well cared for by school mothers,
beside the special care given to them by teachers of the school.
Since the establishment of the school, special programmes have been
developed to sharpen qualified teachers employed into the school. These
special programmes are the Capacity and Leadership Empowerment Program (CLEP),
Child Care Studies (CCS), Communication Studies, Customer Care Programme,
Developmental and Abnormal Psychology and Healthcare Studies.
The school has two Medical Practioners that administer
healthcare needs to the pupils and students, should the need arise, in the school.
Children trained in the school grow to become happy and lively citizen
able to cope with any environment in which they find themselves. They are developed, with consciuos efforts
to be able to relate effectively and productively with their social
environment.
In the Boarding House, well trained child centered personnel with expertise in child psychology are readily available
to support children suffering from emotional and mental trauma and other social dysfunctions.
The Young and Lonely Foundation partners with The St. Germain School Complex to
also support children who are underprivileged, brilliant but h needy and also orphans, to help recruit them in
the St. Germain School Complex to provide them their basic and educational needs.

Children with other physical disabilities are enrolled and given special
care to enrich their self image and capabilities. The school's
administration has a proprietress that governs the general affairs of
the school. The Proprietress supervises three other head masters
responsible for the management of administrative and academic duties of
the school.
The St. Germain School Complex has other special faculties and projects
namely the Teaching and Leadership Capacity Empowerment Conference,
Aptitude Test Faculty, The Computer Laboratory, The Modern Science
Resource Center, Mathematics and English Development Laboratory,
Practical and Vocational Skills Development Faculty, The Music School,
Sports Club and the Writers Club.
Intelligent and creative students are given special tuition support by
the proprietress of the school to enrich their performance both
intellectually and capacity -wise.
Every year, brilliant and excelling pupils/ students in the school are awarded
prizes during the annual School Speech and Prize-Giving Day. This is to inspire recipient pupils/ students to rellent not in academic
performance and also urge the unfortunate ones to emulate the eaward winners.
The school in collaboration with Young and Lonely Foundation have instituted a scholarship scheme
to help children of all categories to obtain education; this will in effect develop Agona Swedru and other communities,
especially with increase in provision of basic necessities like food, shelter and health care.

Currently, the following are the populations of the various classes in the various departments:
Fifteen (15) boys and nineteen (19) girls in Nursery One; nineteen (19) boys and eighteen (18) girls in Nursery two; seventeen (17) boys and twenty (20)
girls in Kindergarten one; twenty eight (28) boys and thirty one (31) girls in Kindergarten two; thirty eight (38) boys and thirty nine (39) girls
in Grade One; fourty one (41) boys and fourty four (44) girls in Grade two; fourty two (42) boys and fourty one (41) girls in Grade three;
Courses currently offered in the recently established Senior High School include: General Arts, Business, Home Economics and Agricultural Science.
The administration of the High School are working hard to construct an ultra-modern boarding facility, which contains a well stocked library
and various laboratories including computer and science resource cntre. The same ultra-modern structure would contain classrooms for tuition and learning.

4.In the St. Germain school Complex every student is a potent
candidate for leadership responsibilities, hence the school has
developed special Capacity Building Curricula to sharpen communication
reading and writing capabilities of students in the St. Germain School Complex.
5.To sharpen the thinking and creativity of children in the St.
Germain school complex.
6.To inculcate in children enrolled in St. Germain School Complex the spirit of
discipline and resourcefulness.
8.To raise sane, disciplined and informed children with knowledge and requisite skills to meet the

external environment and also able to discern and maximize
opportunities.
10.Preserve a healthy future of children in Agona Swedru and its
neighbouring communities using education as the most efficient bait.

A. MANAGEMENT
Madam Dorothy Eghan - Proprietress and Administrator of the St. Germain School Complex,
Patron of Young and Lonely Foundation.
She is lover of children most especially broken hearted and needy ones.
She loves to support needy children in her neighborhood in Agona District
and other surroundings.
Madam Dorothy, as the Proprietress of the Saint Germain School Complex, cares for
about four hundred and fifty needy children in the school's boarding facility.

gives support in diverse ways as far as their housing, feeding, medication,
clothing and education are concerned. The Children look up to her as their mother and role model, due
to the moral ethiques she trains them with, as a highly religious personality in a
Christian denomination.
She has an affection for brokenhearted children and loves to mend
their wounded souls in need of love and affirmation of family. Children who come to
her with wounded spirits go with smiling faces and with hope for the future.

B. OFFICE
Madam Cynthia Okwan
She is an effective and trustworthy
accountant of the school. She is gentle and cares for
children in the school. she has graduated from the
foundation's short courses on self awareness and child development. By
virtue of her interest and qualification, she plays the role of a
second mother in the school.
Miss Esther Obeng
As accountant, Miss Esther has a lot of interest in dealing with figures.
She is highly dependable and renders very accurate accounts to the administration. She takes care of collection of school fees
and all other matters that concern finance. Miss Esther is also highly religous and treats all pupils and students with great passion. All
these make SAGESCO home away from home for all the pupils and students.
Miss Mavis Nti
She is the current secretary who works hand-in-hand with the proprietress
in the office of St. Germain School Complex. Her duties range from taking inventry to writing of minutes of meetings. She is highly innovative and
renders a lot of service in the school, to the children and other members of staff. Miss Mavis loves children dearly.
C. HEADMASTERS
Mr. D.K. Barnes
He is a versatile, highly disciplined and
responsible headmaster who is highly accustomed to serving as headmaster in any of the departments, including
primary, Junior or Senior High School. He is currently the head of the primary department of the St. Germain School Complex. He is lovely and loves to make children happy. He has been
the Administrative headmaster of the school. He plays an effective role
in the YLF as the Central Regional Programmes Coordinator.
Mr. Michael Sebuabe
He is prolific and effective in his
responsibility as the Headmaster of the Junior High School in St. Germain School Complex . He has also traveled wide.
As a retired educationist and former head of businees department of Swedru Business School, he has great entrepreneural skills in managing every affair
of the JHS. Mr. Sebuabe also works very hard to intensify the students' proficiency in the English Language so during weekends
and after school hours, he helps teach them because for him, regular practice leads to perfection.
"When the youth have these prerequisite educational and social qualities, they would be able to
fit into any society they find themselves", he says.
Mr. Ben Somuah
Mr. Somuah is a man of many capabilities. He is an educationist and an administrator. This qualifies him a responsible head of the
Senior High School of the St. Germain School Complex. Children upbringing is one
of his special fields. He is keen in leading so as
to inculcate into the youth the fear of God, honesty and discipline. Mr. Somuah is an
avid reader and has a special flair for the teaching of English
Language.
STAFF OF SAGESCO
For our staff, we have highly
competent Degree, HND, Diploma holders and Senior Secondary/ High School leavers who have excelled in their various fields of study and have
very technical methodology of handling the pupils and students academically and socially such that we experience the best kind of teaching and learning environment in SAGESCO.
Also, volunteers from various countries join us every year with their various excellent knowledge and skills to help bridge the gap between
the new world students and the old world students. The population of staff in the St. Germain School is currently seventy one, covering staff
of Nursery to Senior High School as well as non-teaching staff. It is a herculian task paying all members of staff while not all children enrolled
pay school fees. We plead with donor agencies and concerned philantropists to help us with all means possible; and we appeal to
able volunteers to help render their services as teachers in St. Germain School. We thank everybody that think about survival of children.
